Pool removal

That pool costs you money every month it sits there.

The work

What Mike does on a pool removal job

A pool nobody swims in is a chemical bill, an insurance line item, and a fence you have to keep locked. Mike has been taking them out of Edmond and OKC backyards for three decades. You'll get a straight answer on partial versus full before you spend a dime.

  • Deck, coping and concrete surround removed
  • Shell broken up — walls collapsed, bottom punched so it drains
  • Plumbing and equipment pulled
  • Backfill hauled in, compacted in lifts so it doesn't sink later
  • Graded out to drain away from the house
  • Access path put back the way it was

What moves the price

Nobody can price this off a phone call alone, and anybody who does is guessing high to cover themselves. Here's what Mike is actually looking at when he walks your job.

  • Partial or full — full is meaningfully more, and worth it if you'll sell
  • How the machine gets to the back yard
  • How much concrete there is, and whether it's reinforced
  • Whether fill has to be trucked in or you have dirt on site
  • Whether the deck and surround go too

Questions people ask

Answered honestly

Do I have to disclose a filled-in pool when I sell?

For a partial removal, generally yes — there's buried concrete on the property. It can affect an appraisal or a buyer's financing. Full removal leaves nothing to disclose. Mike will tell you which one your situation calls for, and he'll say so if partial is the sensible choice.

How long does it take?

Most residential pools are one to three days on site, plus the two working days the utility locate takes before anybody digs.

Will it wreck my yard?

There will be a path. Mike runs tracked equipment that spreads weight, lays mats over soft ground, and puts the path back — ruts filled, sod down. If the ground is too wet to do it without damage, he'll tell you to wait a week.

Can I build on it afterward?

After a full removal, yes. After a partial, not usually — there's rubble under there. That's the main reason to pay for full.
